“The process of change requires unlearning. It requires breaking the habit of the old self and reinventing the new self.” - Dr. Joe Dispenza
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, stagnant, or unfulfilling. If you're at a point where you need a fresh start, a life reset can be the perfect way to regain control and create the future you desire. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate your personal reset journey.
If you are feeling lost?
A simple practice that has always helped me find my true north is to go one week without telling a lie. Most importantly, not telling myself lies. As adults, we follow the rules of society and others' expectations of us. Over decades of covering up our own thoughts and feelings, we can begin to lose our authentic selves.
Challenge: Go one week without telling a lie. Keep a journal of all of the times you did lie and why you felt as though you needed to.
This little exercise will offer you insight into your true self.
1. Reflect on Your Current Situation
Before making any changes, take a moment to evaluate where you currently stand. Ask yourself:
What aspects of my life make me unhappy or unfulfilled?
What are my biggest challenges?
What do I truly want to change?
Where do I fear?
Journaling your thoughts can provide clarity and help you identify patterns that need breaking.
2. Fear
Many times we want to change but our fear keeps us stuck.
Ask yourself, "What am I afraid of?"
Close your eyes and think of the thing that frightens you. Notice where you feel it in your body.
Visualize this feeling manifesting into an image (monster, child, cloud, etc.) If your fear could speak what would it say?
Ask your fear questions. WHY? How can I make you feel safe?
3. What do you REALLY want
Creating a vision board is a creative way to identify what you want. Without judgment or second-guessing yourself, create a collage from various images that resonate with you. Often our authentic self knows what it wants if just need to give it space to speak.
If you are coming up blank try to make a list of everything you don't want in one column. Most of us can identify what we don't want fairly easily. In another column, list the opposite of what you don't want. This will be a list of what you do want.
Example:
Caos Peace
Being ill Health
9-5 job Work on my terms
4. Define Your Vision
A life reset requires direction. Intentions are the rutters of life. Where you put your intentions your life will follow. Envision the kind of life you want to lead. Break this vision into specific intentions across different areas of your life:
Career & Finances – Do you want to switch careers, start a business, or improve your financial health?
Health & Well-being – Are you aiming for better physical, mental, or emotional health?
Relationships & Social Life – Do you want to nurture existing relationships or build new ones?
Personal Growth & Spirituality – Are there skills you want to learn or spiritual practices you want to embrace?
5. Take Action and Stay Consistent
Change happens through consistent effort. Break your goals into small, actionable steps and track your progress. Small actions snowball into big results. Don’t be discouraged by setbacks—adjust and keep moving forward.
6. Change Your Physical and Mental Space
A cluttered environment can negatively impact your mindset. Start fresh by:
Letting go of items that no longer serve you
Unsubscribing from negativity—be it toxic relationships, social media accounts, or habits
Your home, clothes, and possessions speak to you. What do they say about you?
7. Surround Yourself with Positivity
Your environment and social circle greatly impact your mindset. Surround yourself with:
Supportive and inspiring people
Uplifting content (books, podcasts, or motivational talks)
Affirmations and gratitude practices
8. Practice Self-Care and Mindfulness
Burnout can derail your reset. Make time for self-care through meditation, relaxation, and activities that bring you joy. Above all peace and health are life's biggest rewards.
9. Establish Healthy Routines and Habits
The foundation of any reset is the daily habits that support your new goals. Implement:
A morning routine to set a positive tone for the day
Regular exercise and a balanced diet
Time management techniques to improve productivity
Digital detoxes to reduce distractions
10. Expand Your Knowledge and Skills
Growth happens when we step out of our comfort zone. Take courses, read books, or seek mentors to develop new skills that align with your vision.
11. Celebrate Your Progress
Acknowledge every milestone, big or small. Celebrating your achievements keeps you motivated and reinforces positive change.
A life reset doesn’t happen overnight—it’s a journey. By taking intentional steps, staying committed, and believing in your ability to create change, you can transform your life in ways you never imagined.
Are you ready to start your reset?
